Position Summary: Southern Wine & Spirits is seeking a seasoned wine manager to partner with our world class team of sales professionals. The position is ideally suited for an applicant whom has beverage sales experience, coupled with superb wine knowledge and familiarity servicing the on-premise restaurant community in the Santa Clara county region (San Jose, Santa Clara, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Fremont & Milpitas). The primary function of the position is to make a high volume of sales calls to leading on-premise and retail accounts, supporting the sales staff within the accounts to increase wine sales.
Roles and Responsibilities: Develops account base in conjunction with District Managers and Salespeople within assigned market area.-Makes regular sales calls to those designated key accounts.-Prepares and presents professional written and oral brand presentations.-Responsible for assigned quotas and placement objectives on a monthly basis.-Prepares and performs educational staff training for retail trade.-Makes sales calls and presentations with supplier representatives.-Coordinates and attends promotional functions in retail accounts.-Provides work itinerary and sales accomplishments to District Manager and Branch Manager on a weekly basis.-Performs other work related duties as assigned by District Manager or Executive Management.-Reside within a thirty minute radius of a retail account within the established territory of Santa Clara county (San Jose, Santa Clara, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Fremont & Milpitas).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field.
Skills: Strong written, verbal, persuasion and interpersonal skills.-Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines.-Able to demonstrate significant product knowledge of domestic and imported wines, domestic and imported beers and all spirits.
Experience:Four to six years of professional sales experience. Preferably with one year of supervising and managing staff.
